I'm privately reminded that when we (OK, it's really "I") talk about IP over home power wiring, the prevailing method is HomePlug AV (latest incarnation). It is not HPNA. The first two letters in HPNA are not for HomePlug.
HPNA's standard may be called HomePNA or Home Phone Line Network Alliance. However, HPNA defines an option for coax. Not used on power wiring.
I think it's correct to say that the MoCA standard is IP via coaxial cable only.
HomePlug AV is always IP via power line, me thinks. And is more popular than HPNA or MoCA.
Hope this is correct.
