How much do people trust Firewalla?

Has anyone checked to see if they send anything home? Does anyone wonder if they have a backdoor into your router?

Sure. That is one reason the US Government was concerned about TP Link routers....

As for the rest - it is who you feel you can trust. Today it is not many companies especially in the US using AI (Flock Safety and others).

Hey Bbunge what do you use for your home networking setup? I’m looking to change to a firewalla gold as well or a Unifi UCG ultra.

I’m looking also for privacy, but more than that, I need reliability more than I want privacy. ASUS seems to break lot of things every couple of updates (the latest firmware for my AX86U PRO) and half baked VLAN features. But I also read a lot of bad firmware updates with Unifi.

I have 4x UCG-Ultra units in use. They are excellent. Few UniFi OS updates already, every about 3 months there is Network application updates, no issues. If you get UniFi switches and access points you have full VLAN support per LAN port and WLAN interface from a single control panel. Real life performance: IDS/IPS (Suricata) ~940Mbps, QoS (traditional or adaptive) ~450Mbps, WireGuard ~450Mbps, OpenVPN ~150Mbps.
