How secure is the Ai-Mesh backhaul channel?

New Around Here
Per the title, how secure it she backhaul channel. I am setting up a pair of AX92U that are tri-band. 5ghz-2 to be the dedicated backhaul.

* This is a sports scoring system that moves from venue to venue.
* Purpose is to replace a hard wire that currently runs about 40 feet but typically has to be routed with 50-75 feet of cat6 cable
* We do not need the wifi as the purpose is to send the signal back into a switch for routing to terminals.
* If we turned on wifi I understand the security there.

So questions.
Can the backhaul channel even be detected?
How secure is the backhaul channel?

Thanks.

Andy

Yes.
Not as secure as CAT6 cable. Ever.

The backhaul is intended to exist within the existing wifi environment if using the radios. By definition, you are turning on the wifi if using it for backhaul. If the packets have something worthwhile, an RF sniffer would be able. Is it worth someone's time/effort ? i don't know as we do not know if ASUS even encrypts the data in the packet. Remember, this is a consumer device, not a military or similar device.

If you need security, privacy, stick with the cable.

Thanks for the reply. wired is absolutely more secure but it's a PITA and having to route the wire and tape it down where people have to walk, just a pain and about 15 minutes to run, route, and tape down on a quick setup time. So some risk is given but as you said it would be unlikely to be worth anyone's time. I did check that the backhaul is encrypted, which I hadn't thought to check.
Again thanks for your input.
