how to get s/n without labels XT8

olagh

New Around Here
I bought two used AX XT8 on Allegro, I have a problem with communication between them, there are no labels and I don't know what type is v1 or v2, I want to downgrade the software and check one, but I need to know what the correct type is, please help

I believe V1 is 1.5GHz BCM6755 CPU, V2 is 1.7GHz BCM6756 CPU.

I don't have an ASUS router to test at the moment, but try in SSH and see what happens:

cat /proc/cpuinfo
nvram get clkfreq

In the Network Map/System Status/Status you should be able to see the serial number of the router. For a node you may have to factory reset it and set it up as a router to get the same information.

Despite what it says in the title it appears that he wants to know the hardware version rather than the serial number.

Thank you for information

I get into one XT8 with firmware 3.0.0.4.388_24768

cat /proc/cpuinfo give me
ARMv7 Processor rev 5 (v71)
CPU varinat 0x0
CPU part 0xc07
CPU revision : 5

nvram get clkfreq - no information at all

Network Map/System Status/Status
show lan ip, PIN code, and 4x mac address , no S/N

I haven't got good answer so I haven't tried with the second XT8

Okay... look at the boot sequence messages in System Log. Sometimes the CPU type comes up there.

Hopefully... the last XT8 in my hands was some 2 years ago. The fact the labels are missing perhaps indicates the units were disassembled for whatever reason. This is a bit concerning for second hand units.

Before you proceed further with firmware flashing perhaps @RMerlin or @GNUton may provide more reliable identification method. Wait a bit, I remember V1 had 2x different hardware revisions as well.
