Increase in home WiFi signal

My home is 2 levels and around 2000 sq feet. My Asus wireless router sits on the second level and the signal is very weak in the bottom bedrooms. My home is hard wired with a lan connection in each room and I have all that running through a switch.
I don’t know a lot of the terminology or what various items do but with my existing setup is there anything I can hook up to my lan connection downstairs that would re-broadcast the the same network wirelessly eliminating the need to re-login or switch networks?

in other words what is the best method in my case to achieve whole home WiFi

What router do you have?

2x RT-AC86U's, or 2x RT-AX86U's, or 2x RT-AX88U's or any one of those and an RT-AX58U running RMerlin firmware 386.1 Alpha 4 make for a very potent AiMesh network, particularly when wired as is possible for yours.

I have the AC88U router and I haven't updated it in over 3 yrs but I think I'm running Merlin on it. Just checked running WRT Merlin not sure what version.....
