Installing bash screws terminal up and locks winscp out

I installed optware and some packages like rddtool thttpd and stuff.
But when i install bash everything goes wrong my terminal acts strange and locks me out and winscp doesnt see any directories.
I can only recover from it by pulling the USB stick out of the router.

Why is that ?
