Interrupted download / upload flow

I need your opinion on the latest issue I have. Since yesterday when I upgrades the fw to the latest Merlin 374.32, I have been experiencing continuous interruptions in the download or upload speed. This is evident in both wired and wireless environments. For instance the download starts at maximum speed, it stays there for 2-4 seconds, then it goes to zero, after 4-5 secs goes up again not necessarily to maximum, then it zeros again etc.
checking the modem side, during this behavior I see no issues I.e the connection is valid and stable.
Any ideas as to what might cause it? It is very frustrating since a download which normally would last say 30 secs it may take now even 3-4 minutes.
Thank you

I think the problem you have described is similar to the one I saw yesterday when I tried the SDK 6 build on my RT-N66U.

I was running speed tests and they would slow right down or stop and then continue. I also saw pings dropping from 17ms down to 250ms.

I assumed that it was something to do with the experimental build and reverted to the latest Asus build which seems to be back to normal.

My issue is driving me nuts. I can see no apparent disconnects from the modem side. I have checked the router's log and this is what it repeatedly registers:

Sep 2 08:30:00 dnsmasq-dhcp[372]: DHCPDISCOVER(br0) 08:60:6e:e9:80:88
Sep 2 08:30:00 dnsmasq-dhcp[372]: DHCPOFFER(br0) 192.168.0.76 08:60:6e:e9:80:88
Sep 2 08:30:03 kernel: vlan1: received packet with own address as source address

As I am not a guru on tech, could someone help me?
