What changed was the router, so let's avoid diving into the NAS.
First, let's double-check what address you are pinging. And power down the NAS then ping to prove it.

Connect a PC's ethernet directly to the NAS ethernet port. Have the PC on a static IP in the same subnet, subnet mask, etc. Try accessing the NAS management web server page. This takes the router out of the loop. Any switches involved?

Since you changed routers, the NAS might need rebooting due to a change in the ARP (MAC address of the router).

As I suggested, I'd set the PC to a static IP, connect it directly to the NAS and get the NAS to run, irrespective of the router. Then we move to the next step.

Does the IoMega software connect to some IoMega service (like DDNS)? And that might hang?
Does the PC access the internet OK via the new router? DHCP or Static on the PC?

If you unplug the ethernet from the NAS, wait a couple of minutes, and power off the NAS either gracefully with the buttons or yank the power plug, it will probably be OK.

I can't help much with IoMega NAS, as I've had a Synology.

I'll go and do this right now .
I don't know about (ddns) service.i would have to come back to you with that one.the pc connects to the internet no probs.
I have set the router up with static ip's for all devices.they all connect fine.thanks for advising me.ill be back later with my findings :

Hi stevech .i unhooked the two ethernet cable from the back went away came back and the unit wasn't frozen anymore could cycle throught the pages on the display.it had fully booted up.i tapped the power button and it went into shutdown mode.i have now rebooted it ,connected it to my pc direct .pinged it with the address it's showing on the display screen .came back 4 sent 4 received 0 lost.
I went and input the IP address that on the display screen.brilliant can get access to the devices management page now.
Thanks again
