4 Apple devices on my network.
24/7 they all do this @ 60 minute intervals. Go figure?!o_O

Whenever I encounter a device with this issue, I give it a static address on my LAN.

Make sure that you try a reset network settings on your apple devices and connect again to the wifi. But first: disable smart connect, set your wifi to fixed channels, Disable WMM APSD (wireless professional), disable Multi-User Mimo (unless you have a maximum of 4 devices) disable universal beamforming, disable TX bursting.

This is a bizarre statement. Surely only users of Apple devices that you have given your Wi-fi key to are causing this issue?
Yes, but my WiFi key is on QR codes on several Post-Its around the house so guests can just scan and automatically join the guest network. I needed a way to keep the iPhones off.

this makes me think that idevices are all insecure and needing reassurance from mama by phoning home so often. How they can function without a proper sleep is beyond me.
Truthfully though, I believe they're sync-ing with something back at "home base" or comparing your network time with the ntp server in Cupertino...it might also be some sort of data collection, but that's up to the user of the device to suss out and deal with.

I have 6 iPhone connected and 3 iPads never had this problem with my asus routers (rt-ac66 before and now rt-ac5300)but noticed it is happening to my android tablet and sound bar. But everything works, so like others have said just ignore the log.

there's free wifi, and then there's "free" wifi, right?
are you legally required in your jurisdiction to maintain a log of such detail? is this an airbnb situation? is your storage location in need of an increase in size?

There's the "Find my iPhone/Android" feature, as well as polling for all those notifications (email, social media, news, etc.). It's more surprising these devices ever go to sleep.

I'm trying to figure out how to stop my daughter's iPhone from spamming my log file. If anyone knows how to stop this silly behavior in iPhones I would really appreciate it.

This is just one 20-minute slice while everyone is asleep and the phone is less than 20 feet away from the router. It's generating 16 KB per hour worth of log entries.

I know this is an old thread, but if WiFi calling is on in cellular settings for the apple device, it will spam the log over and over again whether it's actively using it or not.
