iphones not working on network

I am using a N66u with firmware version 3.0.0.4.372.31. Whenever an iphone connects to the network ( on either the 2.4 or the 5ghz band) it will initially work and then the internet will just stop working on the phone. All computers/tablets (including ipads) /phones (HTC/Samsung etc) all work perfectly on the network.

Most of my settings are stock.. I have specific channels selected. I also use Aicloud.. thats about it

Is there a setting I should be changing that would allow the iphones to work on the network or any known issue with them connecting?

Hi,

Did you do a NVRAM clear (default settings via WPS button) after upgrading to .31 version firmware?

Coming from older firmware, hidden settings need to be put in place from the new firmware. This can only be done via NVRAM clear.
This setting could influence the cooperation with your iPHone(s)...

With kind regards
Joe

Yea I cleared the NVRAM and also went to the stock firmware and still had the same issues. I have tried it with about 4 different iphones and the wifi will initially work but then will cut out after a few hours and not connect. Right now I am on 3.0.0.4.374_257 and the issue persists.

When I reset the NVRAM for 3.0.0.4.374_257, the only settings I changed were manually assigning channels, setting up Aicloud/ the Asus DDNS/ turning off WPS/ Manual DNS to both google and open dns... could any of these be causing the issues?

Which iPhone?

I don't have any problem with the Merlin build you referenced with iPhone 4S. I use Aicloud and disable WPS too. On 2.4 ghz, I set to 20 MHz and "N", uncheck b/g protection and use a fixed channel. Mostly I use my default ISP dns but don't recall any problems when using google public dns, but I have not have tested google DNS for more than a couple hours.

Try with your ISP dns.

Also make sure you "forget this network" when changing firmware.
You can also reset network settings on iPhone/iPad. .
Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings

Edit: try inSSIDer too. Or try fixed channel of 1 or 6 or 11 (at 20 MHz)

Do we always have to "forget this network" on the iPhone/iPad when we upgrade the router firmware?

This is only necessary in some cases when going to a new firmware that uses a different wireless drivers.
