IPTV settings: VLAN changes

Hello Everybody,

There has been a recent change for those of you looking for better VLAN options. This is beta firmware and, should everything work out, will be implemented in future releases of official firmware. Please try it and let me know how it works.

Version 9.0.0.4.346 (Please note this firmware linked below is for the RT-N56u only! It is currently only alternatively available on the RT-N66u. The changes will be implemented in other firmwares across the other routers eventually, but for now only 2 routers are complete)

Changes:
1) The VLAN field can be left blank if your ISP does not specify a tag for Internet.
2) LAN port 3 and 4 can be set for the same VLAN tag if you want IPTV through 2 ports.

ENJOY!

Does this have anything in it directed at the MgmtRing messages, or just the IPTV VLAN stuff? Wondering if I should try it if I don't have IPTV?

Thanks.

Sorry, just IPTV and VLAN update right now. If you (or anybody else) don't use IPTV, there isn't any reason to change to this version of firmware.

Thanks much for replying, much appreciated.

Do you think that progress is being made with the MgmtRing problem?

Thanks for your help.

Pros: AiCloud and WOL from the Network Tools

Cons:
- wrong Advanced_IPv6_Content.asp page > http://i45.tinypic.com/qozx2g.png
- can't change the control channel for 2.4GHz from Advanced_Wireless_Content.asp even after mtd-erase -d nvram (use "nvram set wl0_channel" instead)
- oldest linux core
- ancient Transmission 2.21 (i prefer newest one via "ipkg-opt install transmission" with an external 2.5" USB HDD which can spin-down after a specific period of inactivity)
- no TxPower in WebUI (via Main_AdmStatus_Content.asp all good)

update: "wrong Advanced_IPv6_Content.asp page" fixed in .360. Thanks.
