Is Asus still maintaining its DDNS Asuscomm service? or free service and use at your own discretion?

(using Asuswrt firmware) I suddenly found that DDNS Asuscomm is not really reliable service. Is it just me or anyone else experienced the same? Since the service is free so they have no SLA no nothing to ensure the service uptime reliability at all!

Or their DDNS service's been downed for couple days and I do not know until my Asus router changed its IP and required re-registration Asuscomm DDNS.

Yes, it has been up and down for me over the last two to three days. It is up at this second. Down all yesterday. Working the day before.

I wonder if there is a way to have a second backup DDNS service.

Why not use NO-IP? Sure, you have to login and confirm your hostname once a month, but that's a small price to pay for a 100% reliable free DDNS.

I got tired of the Asus DDNS reliability issues and so I switched to No-IP.com per @Tech9 suggestion on here. Their service has been rock solid for me.

Agreed, Asus DDNS is a gimmick. The reliability is no existing. YES, because it is free!

As of now, their service is now up. It was actually downed like 12hr yesterday. I only use DDNS for OpenVPN otherwise I use DYNU DDNS for my other services (hint, it is free as well)
