Is it normal for wireless backhaul to still be enabled when using wired connection?

I'm fiddling with AIMesh to see if it works better than just AP mode and noticed that even though I have it configured to use a wired backhaul, there's still a wireless signal being sent to the other routers that shows up in the list of wireless log. Is this expected? Seems like maybe this would create more interference in this case wouldn't it?

Normal. It uses it as a 'backup' in case the wire goes down.
