Issue with ipk and preinst/postinst scripts?

I made some IPKs to install an application, and for some reason on asuswrt-merlin (and maybe asuswrt), but not on dd-wrt or kong build, I get 'preinst: not found' errors. Very odd.

Any ideas why that might be?
