Issue with PowerLine device..

Hi,
I use Devolo Powerline 200mbps adapters to connect a laptop or a TV to the network.

http://www.devolo.com/consumer/72_dlan-200-avmini_starter-kit_downloads_7.html?l=en

1 is atteched to the router 1 on the client.. laptop.. TV.
It works fine but instead of green, the light in the router is yellow/orange.

In the previous "Netgear cable modem" it was green like all the others, but now in WNDR 3700 is not even though it still works correctly

Devolo Powerline is excellent and does not need configuration.. and did not give problems of any kind so far.
Any idea?

Regards

Are you saying that when you used these powerline adapters to connect a different router that the lights were green?
And now you have changed to a WNDR3700 and the lights are yellow/orange?

It could be that the power supply for the WNDR3700 is generating some line noise that the other router wasn't. But if everything is working to your satisfaction, I wouldn't worry about it.

Yes Tim, with the Netgear CVG824G (no gigabit ports), light is green using the Powerline, on the WNDR3700 is yellow..all the time.

With my desktop instead, using Atheros NIC, WNDR 3700 shows with green light, but after random time it changes to yellow.

I just ordered CAT 6 wires for Powerline and Desktop, cause I read it could be the cables...

Netgear support instead, wrote that I should return the device as DOA to the seller and get a new one. :)

All works fine... but if there is a chance that the router is "broken" it would be nice to have it replace it before it's too late.
Regards

Sorry, but I may be confused. On which product is the light that you are worried about? And what does its user manual say that the colors mean?

Hi Tim, maybe I did not explain it well myself
...the Powerline product is with yellow/orange light in the router LAN port.
It's a 200mbps Powerline from Devolo.
So maybe the light is yellow/orange just because it's not Gigabit..

It still works fine though so maybe it's normal.

I cannot see in the manual what "yellow/orange" light means.

Regards
