Had the N66U and it worked great when enabling Jumbo frames and I easily got a copy speed of about 70MB/s between my iMac and my NAS. Switched the router to a AC66U and with the same settings I don't get more than 37-38MB/s. I emailed Asus' support but their response was:
"Different models of routers cannot be used for comparison."
And then they closed my case. Workaround for now has been to connect a 2nd switch to one of the ports of the router and have all devices connect to the 2nd switch.
Strangely enough I have the same problem with Apple's new Airport Extreme whereas their 5th gen Extreme worked fine. Wondering if it's something with the new Broadcom chipsets (if they are even used for the switch-part?)
I'm running the latest Asus firmware. Anyone else seeing this on the AC66U?
