I'm new to these forums but not new to wireless networking in general (although I've been out of the game for a while due to school).
I bought a ASUS RT-N66U to replace my LinkSys wrt54g.
Is there a "beginner's guide" to configuring the ASUS to optimize throughput (with a cost/benefit on security considerations)? There are a bunch of threads on various configuration options/designs, but I haven't seen a thread that defines the various approaches and what they hope to achieve.
A brief description of my devices:
MacBook Pro (2009)
MacBook (2009)
iPad 3
BlueRay player (soon to be replaced by an Apple TV).
I'm also upgrading my internet connection from 6m-Bit DSL to 12m-bit fibre.
The goal is to be able to stream from the internet to the various devices and from the AppleTV out.
