just purchased rt-88u: should i have looked at others

I decided to get the 86u now and the 88u is getting sent back. I had the 88u running the latest Merlin fw and set to reboot twice a week but I woke up Saturday morning and the 5ghz band said disabled and the CPU was running all over the place for no reason. A reboot fixed it but if that is a sign of what is to come I'd rather just get it returned while I still can.
