Lanner NS04-3100, anyone has info? Strange story...

Hello everyone,

I 've be doing some research lately on NAS units and I came across a unit called "LANNER NS04-3100".

It looks very promising but although various articles on the internet say that it was introduced in the market about a year ago, I have been unable to find any info about its price and in general no retailers on line!!!

Does anyone have any info on that?

P.S. I also called last week the company's customer support, I spoke with a representative who told me that he had to ask his manager who was away for Thanksgiving regarding the unit's price, as he had to confirm with him, and that he would call/e-mail me yesterday to let me know. What is that??? Strange??? He said that if I wanted I could buy directly from the company the unit, but no word on the price yet!!!

Most likely vaporware. Doesn't really look like the company is in the retail NAS market.

Found it!!!

Ok guys, it seems that the unit is only sold for the time being in Europe...I got an e-mail reply from the manufacturer providing me with the info...here is the web site: http://www.acer.co.uk/public/page4....en&ctx3=-1&ctx4=United+Kingdom&crc=3415952871

The unit is called in Europe: Acer easystore...

I was interested in this NAS as it has built in Wi-Fi but it seems (from what I read from the articles) the wireless speed is slow...haven't found any benchmarks yet though...

Anyone with any comments???

Using anything but the slowest NAS via WiFi will make you very unhappy. Stick with Ethernet.
