Laptop Fails to Connect to Internet When Using AiMesh Node

I've been experiencing a strange issue with my AiMesh setup. When my Windows laptop is in an area where internet access is routed through the main router's Wi-Fi signal, it connects to the internet without any problems. However, when it's in a location where internet access should be routed through a mesh node's Wi-Fi signal, the laptop successfully connects to the Wi-Fi network but gets stuck attempting to establish internet connectivity. Eventually, it reports being connected to the network but with no internet access.

All my other devices (TVs, smartphones) work fine and have no connectivity issues.
The main router is an RT-AX88U Pro, and the node is an RT-AX82U, connected via Ethernet.
I'm using Dual-WAN mode: the primary connection is PPPoE, and the secondary is Automatic IP.

Try forgetting the wireless connection on the laptop and recreating in range of the node.

Did you Reset the router firmware before configuring it?

Did you try removing the node (Resets firmware) and adding it back?

Any chance the laptop is trying to maintain the connection to the main router at very low signal level ?

I restarted the Node, and the notebook reconnected to the Internet normally.

I remembered that this kind of issue has happened a few times with my phone as well. My router is configured to split the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands into separate networks, and I usually connect all devices exclusively to the 5 GHz network. What happens is that, every three or four days — without a consistent pattern — my phone stops connecting to the 5 GHz network. The only way to fix it is by restarting the router.

However, it hadn’t happened in a while, and no other device had been affected until now.

So, it seems there’s some issue affecting the 5 GHz connection after a few days of continuous operation, but I haven’t yet figured out the exact cause.

IS the channel selection set to "auto" ?
If so, try a fixed channel.
Also, set the 5 GHz band to 80 MHz width and the 2.4 GHz band to 20 or possibly 40/20 MHz.

Try disabling 5.0 DFS control channels... if Auto control channel selects a DFS channel and your client does not support DFS channels, then the client will not connect.
