Like its AC1900 NETGEAR and ASUS competitors, Linksys' EA6900 doesn't provide a compelling reason to abandon your current AC router.

Thank you for your in-depth review thiggins.

I have both the Netgear R7000 and the Linksys EA6900 and in my "real world" environment, the Linksys performs better in wired and 5GHz Wifi. Range is better on the Netgear but in my small condo that's somewhat irrelevant as I get plenty of range from the EA6900.

I purchased both routers to test it out in my set-up and it looks like I'm keeping the Linksys and sending back the Nighthawk.

Thanks for the report. How was 2.4 GHz performance?

Better range and slightly faster with the R7000 but I've switched all of my devices to 5GHz since I live in a crowded 2.4GHz envireonment.

Thanks for the review. Guess I won't be upgrading to any AC1900 router anytime soon. MY RT-N66U is still a beast.
