New Around Here
Hi there,

Have been searching the threads for my problem, but can't seems to find the cause of my problem:

RT-N66U with latest Merlin version (380.58),

When I open the GUI of my RT-N66, I can login fine. When I click on one of the left menu items, it logs me out. When I login again, I can browse just fine.
On top of that, when I want to change something in my config and try to apply that, it logs me out and won't change the option(s).

What I've tried:
  • Upgrading from older versions, I've got this problem since a few versions ago.
  • Different browsers (Chrome, IE, Safari, Firefox)
  • Cleaning cache of browser
Anyone's got an idea?

TIA,
Matien

If you use https, try (re)enabling http and see where it gets you.

I'm not yet using 380.58 but the GUI behaviour can be a result of old nvram vars. Did you reset to default after upgrading from 378 to 380 based versions? I find Firefox better than Chrome, but still regularly have to use CTRL-F5, to force reload of certain pages. I found John's nvram backup tool worked fine on upgrade to 389.57 to only bring forward compatible vars. I also only use https on non-standard port, to workaround Asus httpd weakness in that you can't change the lan port and it listens on all IP addresses, which need to remove to use pixelserv.

You might also want to make sure you always log out from the router and (or at least) shut down the browser you accessed it with (completely, do not leave any other tabs or windows open) and try again.

If your are accessing your router by is name, try by IP.192.168.1.1
I'll do that to see if that makes any difference.
