login and password no longer saves

With the last update i did of merlin i noticed that i was constantly having to log in everytime i moved away from the page. i have now had a good look around and have disabled auto log out but i cant see how to get it to stop asking me for user/pass, i am connecting to my router remotley via VPN and access it via its ip address when connected to VPN. I dont mind having to log in on a daily basis but i am having to do it constantly, is there a setting somewherre i am missing or is this something that was changed in the firmware ?
