what settings would cause my upload rate to drop like a rock
w/o router-rt-n66u 25d-4u
with router 25d-.7u
only changes from stock settings are
ipv6 enabled and working
vpn setup and enabled in router but disconnected in windows
some ports are opened for ftp, ssl, etc
but if I turn off vpn,ipv6 it's still the same
I'm using 178rm15 firmware
thank you,bigcid10

also ,I forgot QOS is enabled but made no difference when disabled

The first suspect would be QOS, especially if the upload rate was entered with the wrong unit (i.e. 3 Kbits instead of 3 Mbits). If the issue persist with QoS disabled, it could be either something on your network uploading a lot of stuff (look at P2P software, torrents, etc...) or it could also be an ISP-related issue - try power cycling your modem.

I tried disabling QOS but I didn't powercycle the router
should I have?
also the modem too?

ok,I found what was causing to slowdown
that program cfos that I was running
when I turned off traffic shaping it all came back
so now I have to figure out why
thank you
