New Around Here
Hi everyone,

First post here.

I have an ASUS router with a USB drive attached so I'm in no way a "big guy" in the NAS field but I do love the concept.

I was wondering what you guys use to stream music, video and pictures that can sync statuses across multiple devices (PC, Mac and iOS/Android). By syncing statuses I mean to save playlists, show recently watched videos, etc etc.. The files would still be stored on the NAS.

I'm aware of Plex but my router won't run it. I'm not sure if there is another single solution or if I have to use multiple apps.

What I used to do back when I needed it is save my MP3 playlists on a network share (they're just .m3u files). As long you always mount the share under the same path on every devices, you can share the same playlists.
