Merlin Dev Process?

I'm currently running v3.0.0.4.354.27 of ASUSwrt-Merlin on my RT-AC66U and would like to upgrade but I'm a little confused about the choices.

Looking at http://www.mediafire.com/asuswrt-merlin/#lt9d2blv8a9uh my version is listed as "Beta". Other categories are "Experimental" and top level files which I'm assuming is "Production"? And I'm guessing the .354 release never made it to production because it's not present at the top level?

Last official ASUS release is v3.0.0.4.374.130 as per their support download webpage.

Can someone please explain the Merlin development process?
Why don't I see the current ASUS .274 anywhere within the Merlin files?

I don't want to be on the bleeding edge but would like to keep up with last stable/production release.

Thanks,
Bob

The top-level files are production release.

There never was any non-beta release of the 354 builds because I was waiting for the 372 basecode release for that.

There is no version based on 374 yet because Asus hasn't release the source code for it.

Why do all of the files say 0 downloads? Made me think I was looking in the wrong spot and cautious to flash

Either a browser issue, or a temporary issue with Mediafire (I heard that very same issue has happened before). I can see proper download counts here. 372.32_Beta3 shows 544 downloads.
