Merlin on dsl-ac88u

Hey all, I have a DSL ac88u, not the rt as88u, could I flash the Merlin firmware to it and still keep the dsl side of things, or will it run into issues? I was running DSL but swapped to fibre but hated the supplied router so I'm only using the wan port. But I don't want to cause issues generally with it.

Do you know of a firmware I could use? One where I could try and help boost the power to the antennas to increase range ideally, but if not I'll take anything
