So I have an Asus RT-AC86U with 2 Lyra nodes which do not support guest network at the node which I now need. I appreciate that I'll now need to buy a new router as well so can anyone recommend me a bundle (doesn't need to be AX but AC needs to be 2Gbps plus) that a) truly supports guest network at the node and b) allows 2.4 and 5Ghz to be split or turned off and finally c) that have 2 gigiabit ethernet ports on the back. The router itself needs to able to take a VPN client as well

"AC needs to be 2 Gbps plus". Why? This is not possible with 2 stream clients unless you use 160 MHz bandwidth. This may not be possible in your region due to channel and DFS limitations.
