Missing openvpn section in Asus RT-AC53

Hi,
I have an Asus RT-AC53 and I am trying to set up an openvpn in the vpn client section. When I try to add a profile in the vpn client it opens only 2 sections instead of 3. So I have PPTP and L2TP but I have no Openvpn and as a following I cannot upload the configuration files from my VPN provider. Please help!

According to the specs that model doesn't support OpenVPN. With only 8MB of flash memory it's probably not possible to support it.

Thanks for your reply Colin. However I went to buy another one that is actually cheaper and has lower specifications but supports open vpn having the same amount of flash memory https://www.asus.com/Networking/RTAC51U/specifications/. Still, it’s disappointing to have bought a better router and not being able to use it..

I would say the RT-AC51U has better specifications. Why do you think it is lower than the RT-AC53?

The price isn't always an indication of a better product for more money.

Also, note that the RT-AC53U is better than both.

Both of these will give you pretty poor OpenVPN performance. One has a 500 MHz CPU, the other is 580 MHz. You might be able to get maybe 8-10 Mbps out of these...
