yes.
The moca modems do not have anything to do with IP assignment.
They are similar to an unmanaged switch.
In fact, you could put a 5 port ungmangaged switch directly connected to the ethernet port of the moca modem and have 5 very happy devices.

Spanning tree protocol would need to be enabled for safe measure then correct?

this prevents network loops from occurring as well as broadcast storms…. Can anyone confirm?
