Sorry @eclp for hijacking your thread, but since you have solved your issue and my question is softly related to yours, I use this topic instead of opening a new one for this tiny question:
Is it expected behaviour that when entering WAN ip address manually is it mandatory to enter DNS manually to? In my case, if I dismiss automatic wan ip, I can not select automatic DNS anymore (the option "yes" is not clickable). Is there any other way to enter wan ip manually (to reach my bridged modem webui inside lan) and still use automatic IPS's DNS instead of manually fixed ones?.
I'm using an RT-AC87U under 380 branch. Snapshot:
