[N66U - Fork] Client renaming feature request

Hi john,
The latest release of yours is very stable. Thanks for the nice fork!

I was wondering if you could backport or something, so as to to add a simple feature (which exists in todays latest official firmwares) of renaming the connected clients on the N66U running your LTS Fork. That would be really handy.

I have seen your post describing the LAN->DHCP method. However it would be nice if renaming could be done without binding clients to specific IPs.

It would be great if you could add this simple yet useful feature in your releases.

Thanks in advance.

Backporting is highly unlikely, since the networkmap code is now closed source upstream.

I actually never liked that feature, as it violates my 'keep it simple' goal by having two names to reference the same client, one of which can be an invalid DHCP hostname.

There is a way to assign a new new DCHP hostname without having to assign a static IP. It's been on my potential to-do list for a long time.....I'll give it another look.
