N66U issue with sony BDP-S3100 DVd player

freshwater

New Around Here
I install my new ASUS N66U Router today. Upgrade to latest Sw x374_720.
Initially had problem with iphone5 but finally fixed it, all my phones, ipads and PC with W8 working, but my sony BDP-S3100 connects to the ASUS router but Internet failed, so cant see any Movies. I verify all the settings like WPA/WPA2 they all matches with router but still not getting the internet working.

Can any one help with this issue ? Thanks.

Also how I know which device using 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz. Is Sony prefer one over the other..??

I upgraded my SW to x374_979 and also create a new SSID for 5GHz, now the Sony DVD player can see the 2.4GHz SSID but not the 5GHz SSID, But it locked in fine on 2.4GHz and I can see movies.

Why he not seeing 5GHz SSID because I like to try that too for faster speed.

My iphone 5, Samsung note 2 all locked to 5GHz and doing 20M download easily, I am on Comcast Blast 50/10 with Netgear CMD31T Modem.

google is your friend.

The built in wi-fi of this model is designed to support 2.4 Ghz frequency. It could possibly work with a 5.0 GHz router however we cannot guarantee stability of the connection and the device sometimes may not detect a router that is configured for 5 GHz frequency.

Hi,
I have Panasonic DMP-BDT330, they are not dual band capable. My Panasonic works just fine out of box. Maybe OP did not read the manual?, LOL!
