Need help finding a wireless adapter

Valicious

New Around Here
My old WRT54G finally gave up the ghost, and I got a Netgear WNDR4000. (Good choice, bad choice? I still have time to return it.) I get roughly 40-50 mbps through a wired connection and on my Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 at 5ghz. (which has an 802.11N dual-band radio.) I'm getting about 20-25 mbps using my current wireless card, so I think it's time for an upgrade.
I want it to take advantage of the router, so 3-stream 802.11N supporting 5ghz. I was looking at Intel's 6300, but I have no idea where to get the 5ghz antennas I'd need for that. (I was disappointed to learn it didn't come with any)
I also found TEW-684UB dual-band Wireless N Adapter for $58 on Amazon.
I'm trying not to break the bank with this, especially since I have to buy for two PCs. The $40 each for the 6300s is already pushing the upper end of my budget.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions and help.

Laptop antennas are actually many multiple frequency capable. Some will have two antennas for the radio plus a third for bluetooth. Technically you should be able to get 3-stream working with all three antennas combined as long as their polarities are opposing each other(possible). If they are not the correct polarity for MIMO you can take the lcd panel off and rearrange them since they are only attached with double sided tape. You can buy very cheap laptop antennas on amazon. If you're talking about a desktop PC forgive me, I was thrown off by Intel 6300 which is a mini pcie card and requires an adapter for desktop use and would usually include the dual band antennas for such.

Thanks for the reply.
I was actually talking about desktop PCs, sorry I forgot to clarify that before. I literally only started reading about anything to do with wireless and networking just a few days ago, so I'm still very much a complete noob in this.
That being said, am I gonna be able to do better than the $58 each for a 3-stream N 5ghz network adapter?

I would prefer the Trendnet adapter, but you can try these. If the PCs are near one another you can opt for using Internet Connection Sharing on one to the other(may require a crossover cable) using just one TEW-684UB or PCIe card. Then again you could get the Trendnet 3-stream bridge set between the two and wire them both to it. You could always try HomePlug powerline networking gear.
