NETGEAR introduced its
Orbi Pro AC3000 Tri-band Wi-Fi System for Businesses(SRK60). Composed of an AC3000 router and satellite, SRK60’s main differences vis-a-vis consumer Orbi are:
- Ease of installation with a minimal number of wires needed to set up the system and secure mounting base.
- Three separate pre-defined wireless networks with SSIDs for each for admin/infrastructure – servers, switches, POS, etc., employees/endpoints – gives workstations, mobile devices Internet access, and guests – isolating visitors away from company traffic.
Orbi Pro uses NETGEAR’s FastLane3 techology, providing a dedicated Wi-Fi link to the Orbi Pro satellite over a dedicated 4x4 5 GHz link and optimized antenna design. Wireless clients connect via separate 2x2 AC1300 dual-band radios in router and satellite.
The system is managed using Orbi’s app or web client. For physical connections, Orbi Pro comes with three gigabit Ethernet ports on the router and four gigabit Ethernet ports on the satellite.
NETGEAR’s
Orbi Pro Wi-Fi system will be available this month at an MSRP of $499.99 and includes one router and one satellite.
NETGEAR also announced a 48-port gigabit managed switch (GS750E). The new Managed Plus family product is fanless and supports L2 features such as link aggregation and traffic prioritization, as well as VLAN, QoS, LAG and IGMP, rate limiting, and priority queueing. Management is provided via the switch’s Web GUI. Also there are two active SFP ports for fiber uplink.
