I just bought a Netgear R6300v2 router to replace my Asus RT-N66U.
The wifi performance appears to suck big time. The R6300v2 is located in the same place as my N66U was. Signal strength is about 40% lower for any receiving device (in this case iMac and iPad), this is enough to be causing me speed problems.
I have tried the original Netgear firmware that came with the router, the latest Netgear firmware and DD-WRT all with the same result.
So is this router really that poor or am I missing something obvious? What has your experience been? If you had a problem and fixed it what steps did you take?
