New Around Here
Hello all,

I have come across a really strange network issues on my home network that i am hoping you great people might be able to help with.

First off wireless works without issue

A rundown on my network
Study cupboard
Dlink 2740b

Study Desk, Game PC , Workhorse PC , Nas , HP Procurve switch

Living room
HTPC, Topfield PVR, Tivo PVR,
TPlink Gigabit switch

About 2 months ago i replaced a Dlink 2740b modem router with a Asus AC66U Router and a Tplink modem with not issues just slide straight in and worked like a charm.

I developed an issue with the Asus so it was sent back for a warranty claim and while the Asus is out of action i put the Dlink 2740b back in its place and this is where the issues begin.

As mentioned the 2740b was already apart of this network until it was replaced with the Asus and nothing else had changed.

I put the 2740b back in place and plugged her up to the network and noticed i could not see the router on my Game PC, i tried pining the router bu i got nothing.

I ran a cable directly to the router from my Game pc and connected to the router with no probs, at this point i reset the router to factory default and reset up the wireless connections.

I reconnected to the switches and still could not see the router, again i ran a cable to my games machine and got the router, i then ran another cable into the living room and connected to the HTPC and got network and internet connection.

I then tried another cable from the switch in the living room to the router and nothing, i tried the same thing in the study from the switch to the router and got nothing.

I then tried running the NAS to the router by-passing the switch and could not find the NAS on the network

I then tried another cable from the workhorse pc to the router by-passing the switch and got nothing , no connection at all.

I am totally lost with this one

The router will not connect to any of the switches and will only connect to 2 pc's out of 3 directly connected to it

Any advise will be very much appreciated

Verify that the IP address settings including gateway and DNS are compatible with the DLink router.

What are the IP addresses of the DLink and ASUS?
