network setup query

Hi All,

This is my first post so here goes.

Basically I have a cable modem downstairs hooked up via Ethernet to a Linksys E3200 with WPA2 setup.

I have connected my desktop in the study upstairs via two Netgear XAV101 powerline plugs which works awesome.

I then bought a Linksys WES610N to setup an identical wireless network as the E3200 and then I want to connect the WES610N via the powerline to the E3200 downstairs.

Is this possible?

I setup the wireless settings of the WES610N with the same settings as the E3200 and also gave it a static IP but I can't find how to change the channel id.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

A WES610N is a wireless-to-Ethernet bridge. It can't be used as an access point, which is what you want.

You can get another wireless router and convert it to an Access point.

hmm I'll send it was for an access point.

I'll check out the Linksys access points and recommendations?

I need something with 4 ethernet ports.
