I currently have a small office setup with the following items:
Cable modem
DLink DIR-655 Gigabit Router
DLink DGS-2208 10/100/1000 switch
On the network:
(2) 16-camera DVRs with 10/100 nic
(1) Security PC station with 10/100/1000 nic
(3) Office PCs
(3) shared network printers
(1) extra wireless access point
a few misc items
Cat 5e
All PCs file share
Office PCs use Remote Desktop
DVRs have built-in web servers
DVRs use port forwarding for remote access.
I'm looking to replace existing home office equipment
with something more professional and larger for expansion.
Maybe 16-24 ports. DVRs transfer 32 video feeds over LAN 24/7 so this is were most of the bandwidth goes. Unfortunately they cannot be upgraded to gigabit.
No one is onsite to maintain the network so it needs to be virtual manage-free.
Please make any suggestions for router / switch and config.
