New software update Display of Asus software in the RT-BE88U router

Since I installed Asus Merlin, I would really like to turn off the flashing indicator for the new Asus software update.
Can anyone tell me how to do that?

The flashing new firmware indicator in Asuswrt-Merlin is for new Asuswrt-Merlin firmware, not stock Asuswrt. I remember there was a setting in Administration to disable it, but I also remember if you touch AiMesh page it will start flashing again regardless of your settings. In this case there is a different solution, but if applied you have to visit Asuswrt-Merlin website and check for new versions periodically.

I have set the Asus Merlin update to automatic.
What is flashing is the update for the actual Asus update. It flashes constantly and tells me that I have a new Asus update that I should install.
But since I use Asus Merlin, I don't need to install the regular Asus update.

Asuswrt-Merlin does not support automatic updates, so you definitely did not do that.

What is flashing is the update for the actual Asus update.
As @Tech9 already said, the update check reports Asuswrt-Merlin updates, not stock updates.

And what is the function under amtm? There is a function that you can install to have Merlin automatically install updates when they become available.
I have been using it since I first installed Merlin.

And what is the function under amtm?

This is optional 3rd party custom script, not part of Asuswrt-Merlin firmware.

If your router still checks for stock Asuswrt updates - something is messed up there.

OK... And what's wrong with that?
If you think you are having issues with MerlinAU, see the MerlinAU thread for support since its a addon script.

OK... And what's wrong with that?
Nothing wrong with that, just that it`s a third party application that`s not part of the firmware itself.

Reset the flashing notification by running:
Code:
nvram set webs_state_flag=0
nvram commit
If it comes back overnight, see what it actually is telling you.
