What changes in software 3.0.0.6.102 .... / 3.0.0.4.388 ...

Hi @RMerlin

Can you tell me what ASUS has changed in the 3.0.0.6.102 software .... and why they changed this software compared to the previous 3.0.0.4.388 software ... which in my opinion was already well developed and did not have as many bugs as the current one, I do not understand this change because I do not see any difference apart from bugs and higher CPU load.

I have had Asus routers since the production of RT-AC66U, RT-AC68U etc. and with each year the software has been improved and better and better until now.

I am writing to you because I see that you are one of the best if not the best specialist on this forum.

Thank you.

What specific router and firmware version are you asking about?

In general, major functionality enhancements include:
  1. Guest Network Pro (or Network page on newer firmwares) implementation: provides more customized and flexible configuration of guest and IoT networks on the router and AiMesh nodes;
  2. VLAN support: provides configurable VLAN implementation to allow segregation of segments of one's network. Configurable (from router LAN, VLAN tab) VLAN support extended to AiMesh nodes as well for nodes running 3006 firmware.

Just curious, but with the VLAN support to AiMesh nodes, do those nodes have to run 3006 as well or the AiMesh will allow mesh nodes of earlier gen firmwares to work with it as well?

In order to configure VLANs for LAN ports on an AiMesh node(s), the AIMesh node(s) must be on 3006 firmware as well.

That doesn't bode well for mine... I doubt the XT8 will get 3006. I assume the WIFI vlan portion would work, though on the mesh nodes.
Yes, it will.
