No wireless bridge support on AX88U?

I have a mobile router (MiFi router) that has a cellular internet connection.

i thought I could use some sort of wireless bridge mode to connect the AX88U wirelessly to the MiFi router - and then run a VPN tunnel on the AX88U.

But the closest I found was repeater mode, which works, but now I can’t even access the AX88U’s web interface any more.

i would have thought that a wireless bridge feature, as above, was a basic feature these days - and on such a top-end router.

Am I doing something wrong?
