Not able to find wireless mode in BE92U

the issue that i am seeing right now is wifi 7 speed on 6ghz is slower than wifi 6 on 5ghz.

I have 1Gbps download, able to achieve ~700 Mbps on 5ghz with Iphone 14.
But on 6Ghz using Iphone 16, it can only achieve 200-300 Mbps max.

how can i improve wifi 7 output ?

Since these are phones can you test the speeds very close to the router, I mean like a foot away close? If the speeds are still so very different then there is something else going on. Couple of things that come to mind: USB, recently I yanked the USB HDD I had connected to the 3.0 port on my GT-BE98 and speed improved; I've also had trouble with (cheap) UPS...

Also, it’s not apparent what iOS is being used, Stock 18.6.2 or Beta 26.
The problem could be on the iPhone end, limited information has been given.
Some of what I asked has not been answered.

This model router seems to have more complaints.
 
He's trying to resolve a BE router issue. If you aren't sure the SSH settings work on be routers and don't know the parameters to set be mode how's that going to help, only confuse?

Unfortunately 6 GHz connections on ASUS routers sometimes show as Ethernet (even if there is no cable connecting the 2 and you are certain there is a 6 GHz connection. For example my GT-AXE11000 is running with a TP-Link RE815XE at my in-laws' house. You link each band individually so it extends that band, 2.4, 5, and 6 GHz. So I can verify on the extender LEDs as well as the TP-Link Tether app that all three bands are connected AND extended, but many times the RE815XE doesn't even show 3 connections on the ASUS router pages, AND other times shows Ethernet for 6 GHz! Very few times do I see 6 GHz connection between the two, and even the name that I custom set (so I recognize it) doesn't show on the router. The requested info provided (when incorrectly shown as Ethernet) is minimal. The client list on ASUS routers has been unreliable forcing us to use client info to troubleshoot...

@jack ryan Sorry I wish I could be more help. While I recently purchased a RT-BE92U this is only half the equation, and my son who has an iPhone 16 Pro lives in San Francisco, leaving me with a single OnePlus Open/6 GHz capable device. This is only half the equipment I need to troubleshoot/diagnose.

Not even seeing/connecting to 6 GHz was a big problem when the first MacBook (M2) 6E released. What I ended up doing after many hours of work (including Apple support having me hard reset my ASUS AiMesh network. One of my nodes sits about 12 ft up on an entrance way window sill, so I have to climb a ladder to tinker/hard reset it). I ended up buying the TP-Link RE815XE, installed it, behold it connect/work (with updated firmware), and copy settings over. (I ended up keeping it. "Hey, it works"! Worked out great in my son's room at the time).
You obviously don't know anything about the wireless stack mechanism under the UI either.

These parameters are generic and are read directly by the wl driver. Just because Asus hides them in WebUI for specific models doesn't mean Broadcom will also remove these logics from the driver that are still important to other customers.
My experience tells me Broadcom won't remove them for no reason, but I really can't rule out the possibility that ASUS' own components detect and reset these nvram values (as was the case with recent WPA2/3 workaround). If that's the case, I can also go further and offer other modifications, but it would be more complicated.
I bet ASUS hides wireless mode from UI precisely because they are tired of the cargo cultists who just waste customer support resources.

EMI from USB 3.0 operation does not affect 6GHz. if USB 3.0 is causing the problem, then you should observe that 6GHz should be significantly faster than 5GHz for the same bandwidth, not the other way around.
But the distance factor you mention is a valid issue, since in most areas the txpower of 6GHz is much lower than 5GHz.
 
Did you reset the network on the phone, you only answered half of what I suggested?
Also, change DTIM for the other 2 bands, not just the 6.
Provide screen shots of the 3 bands for the Professional Tab so all can see where you are currently.

EDIT: try turning on WiFi Agile Multiband on the 6 band, under Professional Tab.

What's the speed of the iPhone 16 when connected only to 5GHz? Comparing across devices is meaningless, as iPhone 16 and iPhone 14 are equipped with completely different WiFi/BT modules and drivers.
iphone 16 speed was only 200Mbps on 6Ghz vs Iphone 14 at 800 Mbps on 5Ghz.

Is this the only router being used? (No mesh setup)

Are you on the experimental iOS beta 26?
 
Try WiFi agile multiband in the on position for the 6 band.
Some say it hurts, others say it helps but you won’t know how it performs in your environment until you try it.

This model router has its headaches by all the posts on SNB.

Any advice for the OP.

I would return it, if it was me. I like how it looks in print but it has way too many issues by all the posts here, and from people all over the planet, reading elsewhere.

Then it's not a problem. 6GHz will be inferior to 5GHz at longer distances due to lower transmit power and higher attenuation, especially for devices like iPhone 16 that don't support 320MHz, even at medium distances. that's the Shannon limit.
 
Unfortunately mine looks like it bricked today. Could not hard reset it with WPS (Method 2) nor with the RESET button. Started the return process with Walmart and (since it switched to Marketplace) could not send me a replacement, (no surprise as the seller sold me what appears to be the last in their stock)...

Probably should retract my advice to try 3.0.0.6.102_38961. Mine was an AiMesh node to GT-BE98 Pro AP, behind a TP-Link BE95 IP Passthrough from AT&T BGW320-500.

May try to hard reset again before I take it back to Walmart for credit.
