New Around Here
First, let me start off by saying my knowledge with routers are very limited. I was able to setup this router long ago with a VPN when I used to have it. Now, I have at least 6-7 different devices connected by way of Wifi on it. What I don't understand with this routers, or maybe it's by PC, is why my network name keep changing. With the changes, certain devices may not work on the network. For example, "Ace of Hearts" can connect everything, but my wireless printer and WDTV will not show on the network. "Ace of Hearts 2" only the WDTV will not show on the network, "Ace of Heart 3" all will connect and show on the network. "Ace of Heart 4" my laptop will not connect to the internet. All of this is quite confusing. I don't understand why my network name keeps changing, on top of all devices not connecting and showing on the network. Is there something in the settings of this router? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Before giving an answer: what exactly do you mean with network name?

In a Windows environment there is the Workgroup name, computers assigend to the same Workgroup appear in the same Windows network.

In a wireless network environment there is a SSID, which is defined in the router.
Once the router is online, you can connect client devices to the router SSID. If you delete such a wireless connection in a Windows PC and setup the connection again, that PC shows an icremental number behind the SSID name.

I found out it was the SSID that's duplicating itself. I have went into the key registry and deleted them, but they keep reappearing. I removed the modem and started using the local provider's modem. Since then I haven't had any issues. Still don't understand why this ASUS modem kept duplicating the SSIDs

I doubt it that the router duplicates it's SSID.
Do you really see the router SSID change in the list of available wireless networks?
Or does windows show the SSID in the taskbar with an incremental number behind it?

A few shots:
  1. What is the router firmware version?
  2. Did you hard reset the router after the last firmware upgrade and manual configure the router again?
  3. Is your router SSID really "Ace of Hearts", including the spaces? If so, try a SSID of maximal 8 Alphanumeric characters (Aa to Zz and 0 to 9), without spaces and odd characters.

In the list of available networks, it shows as normal. But, when I place my cursor over it that's when I'll see "2" "3" or "4" at the end of my network name. It randomly changes, and I can't figure out why. I updated the firmware to Version 3.0.0.4.378.9313 in hopes it would fix it, but it didn't. I hard reset the router as a last resort to start from scratch. Started with a new network name, but it still kept duplicating the SSID. Yes my SSID is Ace of Hearts. I will try to redo it without spaces to see if anything changes.
