NT4 to NAS replacement

MauriceSabourin

New Around Here
Greetings.

Is NAS the answer?

We have a small network, about 20 clients. PC ranges from win 3.1 to win8.:o
The file server is a NT4 box. :o:o We have dedicated invoice and mail list programs running built with foxw26. The programs connect to the server via "Map network drive" And all users share the files on the server for invoicing...

I would like to replace the server with a NAS.

Protocols should not be a problem, but will I be able to "Map Network Drive" as it is "hard coded" in the invoicing program, and I no longer have the "programer" to change the code. :(

Thank you all...

Yes, you can map a PC drive letter to some shared folder on the NAS. Or just access that share without needing to map it as a drive letter.
