New Around Here
Hi
First time Merlin Asus user here for my rt-ac68u since two days ago and 386.1_2 works great. Thanks for great work by Merlin team!

I have couple questions below:

1. Which one is correct nvram size: 64k as shown in GUI, or 0x18 * 64k from mtd table below?
ASUSWRT-Merlin RT-AC68U 386.1_2 Fri Feb 12 22:47:24 UTC 2021
admin@RT-AC68U-xxxx:/tmp/home/root# cat /proc/mtd
dev: size erasesize name
mtd0: 00080000 00020000 "boot"
mtd1: 00180000 00020000 "nvram"
mtd2: 03e00000 00020000 "linux"
mtd3: 03c62568 00020000 "rootfs"
mtd4: 03ec0000 00020000 "brcmnand"
mtd5: 00140000 00020000 "asus"
admin@RT-AC68U-xxxx:/tmp/home/root#

2. Can we take advantage of tmpfs for "/mtd/mtdblock4 or /jffs" mount? Perhaps manual/daily sync from some tmpfs location to "/mtd/mtdblock4 or /jffs" to minimize write operation?

3. Is it generally applicable to assign static (host portion) ipv6 like one would do for ipv4 and does dnsmasq supports it (PD may vary obviously)

Thank you.

1. Both. Even though the partition is larger the firmware only seems to be able to use the first 64kB for nvram. I'm guessing that it's probably some historical 16bit address limitation in the SDK.

2. Writing to jffs is not a issue. This has been discussed endlessly in these forums.

Thank you. I read this and understand the jffs now.
