Password length limitation?

I was looking to set a new password for my RT-N66U router that exceeds 16 characters in length. Is it possible to do this?

On a related note, is it possible to have WPA2 passwords that also exceed 16 characters in length?

I'd love to be able to use longer passwords if it's possible.

The WPA2 key should be 64 hexadecimal digits or a passphrase of between 8 and 63 ASCII characters. Is the router giving you some kind of problem using a passphrase longer than 16 characters? I'm not having any difficulty with my RT-AC66R.

(Don't know about the router login password.)

I just counted it, and my WPA2 key has 20 characters.

It seems that I was mistaken with the 16 character length password limitation regarding WPA2.

But the restriction still exists for my router's administrative login password. Is this no longer an issue with the current firmware?
