Hi, I have an RT-AC66U, and have forgotten both the name and password needed to load the settings page (once I go to 192.168.1.1). I can't use the instructional CD (b/c I have OSX) and can't load information from ASUS (b/c) I have Safari. Two questions, please: 1) How do I reset the name and password (and yes, I'll write it down this time); and 2) Will there be a way to "turn off" the 5 GHz broadcasting in hopes of getting better range with this device? You will have to reset the whole router back to factory default. Press the reset button for 5 seconds, release it, then wait for it to finish booting. Access the web interface at 192.168.1.1, and proceed with reconfiguring it.

Broadcasting won't have any impact on the range or performance.

But, turning off the 5Ghz band will keep it running cooler. If your not using it shut it off.
