I recently bought a tp link 8616 (modem only version) and can't for the life of me get it to connect to the internet by pppoe either through windows directly, or through my ac66u. On Windows I get error code 651 and on the router I get "pppoe timeout" errors. The vpi and Vci are correct and the encapsulation is as my ISP have told me and my user name and password for pppoe are correct. What else could be stopping a connection?
I live in new Zealand so I'm pretty sure the Mac address shouldn't be an issue as we are free to use any modem we want here, and have had a plug and play modem/router work before (but not at this house).
It was bought from USA, would that be an issue?
