New Around Here
I've recently noticed several issues with my RT-AX88U router running FW 3.0.0.4.388_24346.
First, devices with manual IP assignment using the DHCP Server tab are renamed from the Client Name I've previously assigned to "New device". There doesn't seem to be a pattern to the loss of the actual name. This problem occurred with the prior firmware and hasn't been resolved with the current firmware. Rebooting the router doesn't help. I haven't gone and rebooted all 51 devices and would rather not do so if possible to determine if this is the root cause. Some of the renamed "new devices" are offline (e.g., Canon SLR camera) and others are online (various phones). Devices whose names are not renamed to "New device" also include a mix of offline and online devices. The online devices have the correct Client Name in the Network Map list and indicate a "Manual" Client IP address.
Why is the "renaming" happening and what can I do to stop it?
